For many years, Swiss Post has been a reliable partner of cantons and healthcare institutions when it comes to digitizing processes in the healthcare sector – from its all-inclusive Time4Patient service, a software solution for outpatient service providers, to a health data management platform for private individuals and professionals.
The Confederation announced a realignment with regard to digital health data solutions in its dispatch accompanying the new draft act on the electronic health record. Given the current drop in demand for the electronic patient record, the shareholders of Sanela Health AG have decided to dissolve the Sanela reference community at the end of 2026. Swiss Post has also decided to focus on the EHR. It will continue to operate its current EPR platform until the end of 2026.
Swiss Post will continue to support the market in future with reliable solutions for networked digital communication between market players.
Towards seamless communication in the healthcare sector
The aim for the healthcare sector must be to enable standardized and automated data exchange between hospitals, insurers, healthcare networks and national healthcare platforms. Only then will digitalization bring the desired added value for everyone involved. Here, Swiss Post offers support at two levels: it provides core applications for hospitals as part of an ‘IT as a service’ model and assumes the role of coordinator when it comes to designing and managing an all-in solution between the different stakeholders. This includes searching for suitable partners and suppliers.
